Team Liquid Win PGI 2018 EU Qualifier, FaZe Clan Miss Their Chance
On the weekend ESL hosted the European qualifier for the upcoming PGI 2018 ¬– a world cup of the professional PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds scene. It determined three teams that will represent the region at PGI 2018 in Berlin later this summer as well as featured a $100,000 prize pool.
The offline qualifier was held on June 29 – July 1 in Leicester, United Kingdom. Twenty teams that advanced from the open qualifiers have been competing during 3 tournament days, each featuring 4 matches. In the course of the competition the participating teams received tournament points based on their finishing positions and kills. Team Liquid showed the best result, placing first with 5475 points, and were followed by Welcome to South George and Pittsburgh Knights with 5300 and 4960 points respectively. FaZe Clan, who by many were considered to be the favourites of the qualifier, placed fourth with 4560 points and failed to qualify for the main event.

PUBG Global Invitational 2018 will be held on July 25-29 in Berlin, Germany. It will feature 20 best teams from all over the world competing in both first-person and third-person modes for a $2,000,000 prize pool.
