MDL Chengdu Major: Team Aster and EHOME Eliminated

The second day of the playoffs stage of MDL Chengdu Major concluded. Based on its results two Chinese teams – Team Aster and EHOME – were eliminated, placing 9-12 and securing $25,000 in prize money and 150 DPC points. However, the local crowd still has teams to cheer for as both Vici Gaming and Invictus Gaming remain in competition.

Today we witnesses four series – two in the upper bracket and two in the lower bracket. In the winners’ bracket Vici Gaming outplayed Fighting PandaS (2-0), while Evil Geniuses defeated Invictus Gaming (2-0). In the lower bracket Team Liquid managed to beat EHOME (2-0), while Team Aster lost to Alliance (1-2).

Tomorrow, on November 20th, the event will start with the second round of the lower bracket, where Invictus Gaming will compete with Fnatic (2:00 AM, here and below in UK time), while Fighting PandaS will contend with beastcoast (5:30 AM). Later we will witness two series of the upper bracket, where TNC Predator will face J.Storm (9:00 AM), while Vici Gaming will play with Evil Geniuses (0:30 PM).

MDL Chengdu Major is the first major tournament of the season that is taking place in the Chinese city of Chengdu, where sixteen teams compete for a $1,000,000 prize pool and 15,000 DPC points.
