ESL Pro Tour for WarCraft III: Reforged with $200,000 at Stake Announced
ESL and DreamHack with the support of Blizzard Entertainment will organize ESL Pro Tour, a series of WarCraft III: Reforged competitions with a total prize pool exceeding $200,000.
The regular season of ESL Pro Tour will include three tiers of events – ESL Open Cups, Qualifiers and Challenger Events. The latter ones will be held offline and feature a $25,000 prize pool. Besides that, the best player of each Challenger event will qualify for WC3 Championship, the season’s pinnacle. The inaugural season will see four Challenger tournaments, with the first two events being already announced – DreamHack WarCraft Open Anaheim 2020 scheduled for February 21st-23rd and DreamHack WarCraft Open Jönköping 2020 that will take place on May 22nd-24th.
WarCraft III: Reforged is a remastered version of WarCraft III, which was announced at BlizzCon 2019 and is scheduled for release on January 28th. Currently the game is in the beta stage.
