Uzi Retires from Competitive League of Legends due to Health Problems
Jian "Uzi" Zi-Hao, a 23-years-old AD Carry from China, has ended his career of League of Legends professional player. The decision was made due to the player’s poor health conditions: recently he was diagnosed with type II diabetes and advised by his doctor to stop competing. Earlier Uzi debated retiring due to experiencing pain in his arms, shoulders, and legs.
Uzi started competing in 2012, being only 15-years-old. For the last four years he has been playing for Royal Never Give Up, together they won 2018 Mid-Season Invitational and emerged victorious at both the spring and summer splits of LPL 2018. They also placed 2nd at the World Championships in 2013 and 2014, as well as finished 3rd-4th at 2017 WC. The player’s last tournament was 2019 World Championship, where the team failed to advance from the group stage and placed 9-12th. Since then the player has been inactive.
This week Royal Never Give Up will start competing at LPL 2020 Summer, where they will fight for their share of a $590,000 prize pool. Their first match, where they will face Oh My God, is scheduled for June 6th, 12:00 PM UK Time.
