Team Secret Win MDL Disneyland Paris Major

The second last major tournament of the current Dota 2 season MDL Disneyland Paris Major has completed with Team Secret defeating Team Liquid, claiming $350,000 in prize money and 4,950 DPC points. The runner-up received $170,000 and 3,000 qualification points.

Team Secret started the competition by placing first in Group B, where they defeated Team Empire (2-0) and Chaos (2-0). Later in the playoffs upper bracket Puppey’s team outplayed PSG.LGD (2-1), OG (2-0), and Evil Geniuses (2-1). In the final series Team Secret lost the first map but won the following three maps, finishing the series with the 3-1 score. Thus, Team Secret is the first team to win two major tournaments in this season – earlier they emerged victorious at The Chongqing Major. Currently the team sits at the first place of DPC rankings with 14250 points.

MDL Disneyland Paris Major was held on April 4th – 12th in Paris, France. First, eighteen participating teams competed in four GSL groups. Then top two teams from each group advanced to the playoff upper bracket, while the others made it to the lower bracket. All regular matches were best-of-three except Grand Finals and Lower Bracket Round 1, which were best-of-five and best-of-one respectively. The prize pool was set at $1,000,000, the teams also competed for 15,000 DPC points.
