The Mongolz sweep Aurora to claim Esports World Cup title

The Esports World Cup for Counter-Strike 2 concluded on August 24 in the evening.

The Mongolz secured victory in the best-of-5 grand final, sweeping Aurora 3:0. The match ended on Mirage (16:14), Dust2 (13:9), and Nuke (13:4).

The triumph earned The Mongolz the top prize of $500,000. Aurora took second place and $230,000, while Falcons finished third with $130,000. The total prize pool of the championship amounted to $1.25 million.

For The Mongolz, this was their first major victory at a tier-1 LAN event. Previously, the team lifted trophies at Yalla Compass and Thunderpick World Championship and reached the finals at the Austin Major and BLAST Bounty Fall.

The Esports World Cup in CS2 took place in Riyadh from August 20 to 24.
