FISSURE Playground 2 Playoffs Bracket Set
FISSURE Playground 2 is moving into the playoff stage following the conclusion of the Swiss group. In the decisive matches, Liquid, Astralis, and paiN secured their spots at the Belgrade Arena.
The first quarter-final on Friday will feature The MongolZ and G2. huNter-’s squad will be looking to take revenge on the team that eliminated them from the 2-2 pool at BLAST.tv Austin Major. Both teams went through the group stage with identical 3-1 records and are aiming for their second trophy of the season: The MongolZ won the Esports World Cup, while G2 are hoping to make it back-to-back after their victory at BLAST London two weeks ago.
In another match, Aurora will face Liquid for the first time since IEM Dallas in May and for the fourth time this year. Aurora took the last two encounters and will look to extend the streak, while Liquid head into the arena with less pressure after earning valuable VRS points in the group stage, moving into Major invite contention.
Astralis will compete for the first time with Magisk back in the lineup, hoping the change will improve their results after a tough loss to FURIA at IEM Cologne, when stavn was still on the roster. They will now face FURIA again in the playoffs.
The day will conclude with Falcons versus paiN. It will be a tough challenge for paiN — Falcons are showing an average rating of 1.29 in Belgrade and have four players ranked in the tournament’s top seven, including all three leaders.
