Controlez to stand in for The MongolZ at IEM Chengdu
The MongolZ have announced that controlez will temporarily join their lineup for the upcoming IEM Chengdu tournament. The event will take place from November 3 to 9, with the player stepping in for the recently benched Senzu.
The decision to bring in controlez came shortly after the roster change that saw The MongolZ bench their star player for the first time in more than two years. The new stand-in previously played for Chinggis Warriors, where he maintained a steady 1.06 rating.
In an official statement, the organization explained that the choice of an experienced player was due to the limited time available to evaluate potential candidates from the academy roster. According to The MongolZ, the decision was made in close consultation with the main lineup.
controlez is no stranger to the team — in 2020, he briefly played alongside bLitz, and back in 2017, he represented The MongolZ with the current coach maaRaa. The team will kick off their IEM Chengdu campaign on November 3 with a match against HEROIC.
